Easy: July and August offer peak wildflower displays. Join our naturalist for a moderate 6 mile hike in the Snake River Range along Mail Cabin Creek starting around 7,200 feet. Learn to identify a variety of habitats and the plants and animals that occupy each. We'll top out at 8,600 feet for lunch and views. Perfect for those who want to get away from the crowds and casually hike through forest and meadows with little elevation gain. A great hike for the entire family.
Moderate: Join us for a challenging hike up Coal Creek in the southern Tetons, gaining 1,957 feet of elevation over the course of three miles to the Mesquite Divide (9,197) where you'll find great views of the Grand Teton and the surrounding wilderness. Continue uphill for another two miles and climb to the summit of Taylor Mountain (10,352) where you'll scramble over rocks and possibly snow to the summit marker. A great hike for those looking for a good challenge.
Strenuous: Looking to do a really long hike with great views over varied terrain? We'll climb to the summit of Taylor Mountain as described above then continue for another seven miles, eventually descending into Moose Creek at 6,800 feet. This loop hike is 12 miles with over 3,000 feet of elevation gain. Bring your sense of adventure and good stamina for this one.
